As a Master Carpenter and Joiner with over 40 years' experience specialising in designing and making bespoke handmade furniture and fine joinery for the discerning residential market, I have frequently been asked by my clients if I have ever considered passing on my skills and experience to woodworking enthusiasts. Consequently, I have developed a range of courses specifically for the beginner and home woodworker who wishes to experience the joy and creativity of woodworking.

These one-day courses are held at The Woodhall Institute of Craftsmanship near Guildford, Surrey where I am able to provide one-to-one instruction for up to four people at a time.

Outline of Finishing & Polishing Course for Home Woodworkers

Finishing and polishing is an essential element in the production of furniture. On the Finishing & Polishing course I will show you how to stain, polish and wax furniture using the following kits.

 

Furniture Repair Kit - Starter kit for common repairs

 

Purpose
The Liberon Repair, Renovate and Revive Furniture Kit contains all you need to repair, renovate and revive any small surface damage to the woodwork and furniture in your home.

 

Pack size

  • 150 ml Furniture Paste Wax,
  • 250 ml Wax and Polish Remover,
  • 125 ml Ring Remover,
  • 4 x 7g Ultra Fine Steel Wool (0000)
  • Liberon Retouch Crayons (mixed)

This kit enables you to remove white ring marks, built-up wax and grime and to fill blemishes and scratches prior to finishing with a wax polish.

 

Liming Kit Complete

 

Purpose
Liberon Liming Kit enables you to transform an ordinary object or piece of furniture easily with a decorative limed finish. Ideal for beginners the starter pack contains everything you need to achieve a professional looking finish.
